While we were developing our waxing process, we understood the fabric needs to be fairly dense so the solution does not leak through the other side and so that it can retain it. Corduroy technically fits this criteria, however, to apply the wax on the wales would be very tough, which is why we decided to use the reversed side. The reversed side is flat and dense, and as we apply the solution, the solution penetrates the surface and gets retained by the wales, which then eventually gives the garment structure.

We use the same solution of beeswax, linseed oil, and pine tree resin. The solution is applied on a half finished garment before the lining is attached.
