In India, Bactrian camel wool comes only from the far‑northern cold‑desert regions of Ladakh and the Tibetan border, where a small population of double‑humped camels survives in the Nubra Valley. Because these animals were once nearly extinct and remain few in number, the fibre is extremely scarce, and locally it is mostly used to make scarves rather than fabric.

We work with herders who supply extra‑fine camel fiber, which we blend with merino wool. This season, we developed two textiles: a 50/50 Bactrian camel and dyed merino wool fabric, and a 80/20 camel and sheep‑wool blend created at the spinning stage.
